Telice
Telice S.A. is a Spanish railway electrification contractor founded in 1973 and headquartered in León, specialising in traction substations, catenary, signalling and communications installations.
Telice — legally Teléfonos Líneas y Centrales S.A. — is based in the Onzonilla industrial estate outside León, with an office in Madrid and a presence in Peru. The company employs around 250 people, according to 2024 reporting.
Its business lines cover catenary, traction power, signalling and civil protection systems, delivered as design, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance contracts.
Substation work
Telice builds and maintains traction substations and their associated autotransformer centres — the core assets covered by railway substations — for high-speed, conventional, metro and tram networks. The company handles the full project cycle from civil works to SCADA control systems.
Its reference work sits on Adif’s 2×25 kV 50 Hz high-speed network. Telice built the traction substations and associated autotransformer stations for the Valladolid–León and Venta de Baños–Burgos sections of the northern high-speed line, including the 400 kV feeder lines to the Dueñas and Becerril substations.
The company reports electrification installation and maintenance covering more than 830 km in Spain.
Recent contracts
In a joint venture with Eiffage Energía Sistemas, Telice is executing the electrification of the 311 km Zaragoza–Teruel–Sagunt line for Adif, including the Cariñena and Villafranca traction substations. The same partnership built the Oural substation, two final transformation centres and eight intermediate autotransformer stations on the Ourense–Lugo modernisation.
In December 2023, Telice and MYTRA Control were awarded a EUR 5.2 million contract for three intermediate autotransformer centres and substation adaptations on the Palencia–León track duplication.
Market position and innovation
Telice works primarily as a contractor to Adif and to larger construction groups within Spain’s power supply and electrification programmes, with international activity pursued in markets including the UK and Latin America.
Its HÉCATE innovation project develops an integrated distributed control system for high-speed railway substations. The company also markets tCat, a portable catenary geometry measurement system.
