Passengera
Passengera is a Czech supplier of onboard connectivity, Wi-Fi, and infotainment platforms for rail and public transport, headquartered in Prague and deployed across Europe, the Middle East, and New Zealand.
Passengera s.r.o. delivered its first onboard infotainment project in 2012 under the Czech technology company Simac Technik, and has operated under its own brand since 2015. Headquarters and product development are based in Prague.
The company reports approximately 28 employees in its profile with ACRI, the Czech railway industry association, of which it is a member. According to the company, its first clients included Czech Railways (České dráhy) and Flixbus.
Products and services
Passengera supplies a modular onboard platform combining vehicle-to-ground connectivity, passenger Wi-Fi, infotainment, and passenger information systems (PIS). The platform is built around multi-service onboard gateways running the company’s own operating system, PassengeraOS.
A separate hardware-agnostic layer hosts onboard applications as containers — captive portal, infotainment, PIS controller, and third-party software — on a single device. A cloud-based Monitoring & Management Suite provides centralised fleet and content management.
Connectivity options include multi-radio 5G gateways and Starlink for Rail as a satellite add-on for areas without mobile network coverage. The platform also serves as an integration point for other onboard systems such as ticketing, CCTV, telematics, and automated passenger counting.
Market position
Passengera holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, and is certified to IEC 62443-4-1, the cybersecurity standard for secure product development in industrial automation and control systems.
Rail references include Czech Railways, where the platform has run on the Pendolino fleet since the company’s first project in 2012, and Rhaetian Railway in Switzerland, where it has supplied infotainment, connectivity, and passenger analytics on the Bernina Express since 2016. The company itself lists further rail clients including MÁV, KiwiRail, CFR Călători, and Azerbaijan Railways; these references are self-reported.
Customer types span national and private rail operators, urban transit authorities, and bus operators, with deployments the company states cover four continents.
Current activity
Passengera exhibited at TRAKO 2025 in Gdańsk on the joint ACRI stand, presenting its G8 multi-service gateways with a containerised edge computing platform — according to ACRI’s fair reporting already in use with PKP Intercity.
In cooperation with Czech Railways, the company began implementing 5G support through the same gateways in Railjet and selected EuroCity/InterCity coaches in early 2025.
In January 2026, ACRI reported the company’s participation in a train modernisation for Georgian Railways, deploying Wi-Fi 6 access points and its management platform on the Tbilisi–Batumi route.
