Panorama Antennas
Panorama Antennas is a British designer and manufacturer of radio communication antennas, headquartered in London and supplying rail-certified antenna systems for rolling stock, tram and light rail applications.
Panorama Antennas was established in London in 1947 and is a privately owned family business, now in its third generation, employing more than 150 people worldwide according to the company’s own figures. Design and manufacturing are concentrated at the company’s headquarters and production facility in Wandsworth, London.
Four wholly owned subsidiaries in Australia, France, Singapore and the United States handle regional sales and support. According to the company, it supplies directly into more than 70 countries.
Rail antenna portfolio
Antennas form the physical layer of onboard connectivity and communications, and rolling stock is the company’s main rail application. Its train antennas and multiband systems are built to carry several radio technologies at once: for external mounting, the TRN range covers TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) and other ultra-high frequency bands, 4G/5G cellular in single-input single-output (SISO) and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) configurations, and WiFi, with optional GPS/GNSS satellite navigation on the L1 or L1/L5 bands. The TRNM[X]4-6-60 series combines up to 4×4 MIMO 4G/5G with up to 4×4 MIMO WiFi 6E and GPS/GNSS in a single housing.
For coverage inside carriages, the LPM[X]W-24-72 dome antenna distributes WiFi signals and is low enough for installation in low-clearance areas. The portfolio is supported by halogen-free, flame-retardant coaxial cables approved to EN 45545-2 hazard level HL3 for internal and external rail use.
Certifications and mounting
The rail antenna platforms are certified to EN 50155, EN 45545-2 and EN 50124-1, and are ingress protected to IP69K when correctly installed; the internal dome antenna additionally carries IK10 impact protection. The TRNC[X] and TRNM[X]-7-60 ranges are fixed with four M12 bolts in a layout established across the rail industry, which keeps upgrades and replacements within the existing mounting pattern.
Rail in the wider portfolio
Rail is one of several sectors for the company, which also supplies antenna systems to public safety, industrial internet of things (IoT), distributed antenna systems (DAS) and enterprise markets. Stated rail applications include passenger broadband, vehicle operation control and monitoring, ticketing and video surveillance.
Current activity
Panorama Antennas is registered as an exhibitor at InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin (22–25 September), listed in the exhibitor directory through its French subsidiary Panorama Antennas SAS. The company publishes a dedicated transportation catalogue covering its rolling stock antenna and cabling range.
