Forsee Power
Forsee Power is a French manufacturer of lithium-ion battery systems for electric transport, headquartered in Ivry-sur-Seine and supplying rail, bus, off-highway and light vehicle markets worldwide.
Forsee Power was founded in 2011 and employs around 600 people. Its main production site for heavy-vehicle battery systems is located in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou near Poitiers, with additional plants in Asia and in Columbus, Ohio.
The company has been listed on Euronext Growth Paris since February 2026, following a transfer from the regulated Euronext Paris market. Group revenue for 2025 was EUR 120.5 million, of which the heavy-vehicle segment — where rail activity is consolidated — accounted for EUR 106.2 million.
Rail battery systems
Within battery systems for rail, Forsee Power supplies onboard traction batteries covering three chemistry and duty-cycle profiles. The systems are designed for catenary-free operation, with charging via overhead line, stationary chargers or braking energy recovery.
PULSE PLUS RAIL is a high-power system built on Toshiba lithium-titanate (LTO) cells, covering voltages up to 1500 VDC with liquid thermal management. The company states a service life of up to 20 years for the system.
ZEN LFP RAIL 1500 V, launched at InnoTrans in September 2024, is a high-energy system based on lithium-iron-phosphate modules of 55 kWh, configurable into 330 kWh branches and multi-megawatt-hour installations for locomotives. The SPIKE range targets ultra-fast charging for locomotives on non-electrified sections, with a recharge time of 15 seconds.
Standards and strategic focus
The rail systems are designed to meet railway standards including EN 50126, IEC 62928, IEC 61373 and the EN 45545 fire safety requirements, with ZEN LFP RAIL declared compliant with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2. Rail is one of the segments Forsee Power has prioritised in a refocusing of the business on buses, off-highway, mining and rail.
Rail references include a 2025 contract with the Polish power electronics supplier Medcom, covering 110 PULSE 26 PLUS RAIL batteries for 55 hybrid light rail vehicles in a US city, with deliveries to Medcom scheduled from April 2026. Forsee Power’s own account also cites a 2019 agreement to supply Socofer’s 19 hybrid maintenance locomotives for Getlink’s Channel Tunnel operations; other public reporting on the same locomotive fleet points to a different battery supplier, and the company’s role in the completed project is not independently confirmed.
Forsee Power entered traction and propulsion for rail from its established base in buses and commercial vehicles, where it reports having equipped more than 5,000 heavy vehicles.
Current activity
In June 2026, Forsee Power signed a memorandum of understanding with Wabtec to integrate PULSE PLUS RAIL battery systems into Wabtec’s battery-electric locomotive platforms. The collaboration draws on Forsee Power’s Ohio plant to meet Buy America requirements for the North American market.
The agreement follows a 2025 partnership with Rolls-Royce on battery-electric propulsion for industrial and transport applications.
Forsee Power’s 2025 reporting pointed to delays in rail and other programmes as a factor behind a 22% revenue decline to EUR 120.5 million and a net loss of EUR 28.0 million. The group has since restructured part of its debt and raised capital, targeting a return to growth from 2027 under its RePower27 plan.
