Trenitalia France establishes Paris high-speed depot

FRANCE: Trenitalia France has signed a 35-year lease for a rail site near Paris where it plans to build a high-speed maintenance depot.
The agreement with SNCF Réseau covers a site at Maisons-Alfort Pompadour in the Île-de-France region. FS Italiane said the future depot would support Trenitalia France’s existing operation in France and potential future services to London.
Long-term Paris site for maintenance base
The project gives Trenitalia France a dedicated site for maintaining high-speed trains in France.
This gives Trenitalia France a more permanent operating base for its current services and future expansion, rather than relying solely on external access to infrastructure and rolling stock.
Paris–London link remains future-facing
FS also said the site is intended to support future Paris–London operations. This links the depot to Trenitalia France’s longer-term expansion plans, but the immediate development is the depot, not the launch of a new cross-Channel service.
The company said the project represents an investment of around EUR 80 million, with entry into service planned by the end of 2029.
