Railcare signs new Trafikverket framework agreement
Railcare has signed a new three-year framework agreement with infrastructure manager Trafikverket, keeping the company’s vacuum excavation machines available for maintenance call-offs across Sweden from February 2027.
The agreement runs for three years from 1 February 2027 with options for two one-year extensions. Call-offs will be made on a rolling basis, as under the previous framework agreements between the two.
The framework covers contracting works on the Swedish network. According to Railcare, it also opens for the company’s electric and battery-powered maintenance machines alongside the vacuum-driven fleet.
Battery machines enter the call-off scope
Railcare builds and operates its own maintenance machinery, including the Railvac vacuum excavators used for ballast and cable works without manual digging. Chief executive Mattias Remahl described Trafikverket as the largest customer in the company’s Construction business area.
No contract value was disclosed, and the announcement was not classified as regulatory information.
The agreement lands as Railcare reduces its exposure outside Scandinavia. The board decided in February 2026 to wind down the company’s UK contracting operations after years of falling volumes there.
